Meet the Founder

Jamie Killorn

I created Positive Journals built on a simple idea — that a few honest, positive words written down can have a lasting impact on how people think and feel.

The concept started with something different to a traditional journal. I wanted to create a space where people could leave positive comments, reflections and experiences for others to read, learn from and build on — especially in short-term rental homes, where guests could connect through shared positivity.

With over 35 years as a director in facilities management and a lifelong commitment to sustainability, every journal reflects what I believe: that anything which helps people feel more positive, clear and connected is worth doing.

What is the story of Positive Journals?

Positive Journals was created from a simple, but meaningful idea: that writing can be a powerful way to slow down, reflect and focus on the positive moments in life.

More than a notebook, it's an invitation to write about gratitude, achievements, dreams and everyday reflections. It brings together sustainability, mental wellbeing and meaningful design in one simple product.

Our journals are crafted with reclaimed Hydrowood timber from beneath Lake Pieman in Tasmania — giving preserved wood a new life as something beautiful and lasting.

Every detail, from the recycled pages to the plant-based glues and eco-friendly linen, has been chosen with care to reduce environmental impact while creating a product that feels thoughtful and unique.

In a world that moves quickly and leaves little space to pause, journaling offers a private and grounding habit that can support mental wellbeing and create clarity.

A few honest lines on a page can help process thoughts in a calmer, more intentional way — building a more positive mindset over time.
